A great read! Loved Ten Beach Road in so many ways!!! Wow, where do I begin. First and foremost the characters were divine! Loved the rags to riches and back to being homeless; struggles and challenges…can relate is so many ways, as have been involved with corporate America in whistleblowing and other SEC investment firm scams with companies I have worked for in Atlanta and Florida. Have been defrauded by Atlanta company, and lost everything at one point, so there is always a tough climb back! Story was so realistic and loved the humor, and the good times – dynamite strong women!

In addition, being a former interior designer have been involved with many showcase designer homes and all the work which it entails and the highs and low; the Mediterranean Revival and Art Deco periods – involved with properties in West Palm Beach from 1920s-1948 in restoring these in downtown historic area for luxury inn and cottages and marketing them, so enjoyed this part.

Loved the Palm Beach, FL parts since I live in the area, as well as spent many vacations in St Pete, Clearwater, Indian Rock Beach, Johns Pass, Treasure Island, Don Ce Sars, office in Tampa, and have cycled up and down Gulf Blvd…quaint area and lots of memories with some great beach cottages like Colonial Court Inn. Lots of good laughs with this read and looking forward to reading Ocean Beach (setting in South Beach), which I love!

Madeline, Avery and Nikki are all left without money after a Ponzi scheme takes all of their money. All they are left with is 1/3 of a dilapidated house in Florida. They all go to Florida planning to sell it. When they see it, they realize that it can't be sold without a lot of work. They decide to do the work themselves - since they can't afford to hire anyone to do it and in the process they become friends and learn all about each other. Add to the book a useless husband, jealous contractor, pregnant daughter, estranged mother and various other side stories and you have a perfect beach read. Its a fun book to read - nothing too deep but just fun. ( )

The perfect summer read ,including restoring a gorgeous mansion on the sea to the hurricane coming to threaten all their hard work. It's the perfect meld of friendships developed and gone awry, kept me reading at the pool, it was 93 outside , until it was done. Good job Wendy Wax, and the kicker is there is a sequel that I'm going to pick up today to take with me on vacation! ( )

Wendy Wax has an excellent beach read with substance in Ten Beach Road for those of you looking for an end of summer winner. Ripped from the headlines, these three women find that their only remaining asset is a rundown beach house (Bella Flora) in Florida after Malcolm Dyer — aka Bernie Madoff — stole their life savings. Madeline’s life has been flipped upside down when she realizes her investment advising husband not only lost his clients’ money in a giant Ponzi scheme perpetrated by Dyer, but also that of his family. Meanwhile, Avery has discovered that her father’s estate was similarly lost just as her stint as a co-host of Hammer and Nail on HGTV as her ex-husband edges her out with his elbow. Nicole’s situation is a bit different because she had a personal connection to Dyer and her trust was more born of that loyalty than a financial desire, which makes her financial crash all the more crushing.

Ten Beach Road is a glorious testiment to the strength and loyalty of women! Wendy Wax has delved into the rituals and reasons beneath the friendships of women and written a story that reminds all girls to never underestimate the power of those bonds. I highly recommend this to all young girls (20's) as a model of what they can do with the support of friends. The characters Madeline, Avery, and Nikki learned that together they could accomplish and survive anything.....and that's what girlfriends are for!
