This is a good book to get started with the PERL language. a solid 4 out of 5. Clear explanations. Good Examples. Indexing is a little weak. Not to wordy. Would not recommend PERL for an Absolute Beginning Programmer. ( )

"The Perl (this book) teaches is strong industry-standard Perl that is…considered best practice." — Jack Herrington, Editor, Code Generation Network Originally created as a powerful text processing tool, Perl has since evolved into a multi-purpose, multi-platform language capable of implementing a variety of tasks such as system administration, CGI and network programming, XML processing, and more.
