Girl lives on island of matriarchy. Girl gets kicked out of the matriarchy for being a lesbian and sent off to the mainland, where she spends the entire book being oblivious to the fact that there are plenty of same-sex couples on the mainland. Girl then falls in love with sorceror chick. Also there's a plot somewhere in there.

It's on the short side, but is generally very good overall. I might go read the next ones. It's cute. ( )
