Way better than the classic storyline, and fun characters and illustrations. ( )

This is the adventure of the little red hen and her quest to make the best pizza.

This story is a different version of the folktale, The Little Red Hen. Little Red Hen, gathers and makes the pizza and during every step she asks her friends for help and they don't ever want to help her until the actual eating of the pizza.

I would use this book in teaching about fairytales and folktales. I would also read the original version and do a compare and contrast between the two stories. ( )

This is a spin-off of The Little Red Hen classic story. In this version The Little Red Hen has decided to make pizza. Similar to the original, she asks the other characters for help making it and receives no help until it's time to eat the pizza. Fortunately though, everyone is willing to help clean up the dishes afterward, while The Little Red Hen gets to kick her feet up.

This book was so enjoyable, the kids I read it to asked to read it a second time and again after that. The collage illustrations were so fun to examine. The textures and bright character of the images are working whit the updated version of this classic story to really engage readers young and old alike.

Book description
The Little Red Hen is very hungry and is craving pizza! She needs help setting up and buying groceries for the pizza but it seems as if Cat, Dog, and Duck would rather not help. Once Hen is done with the pizza she is kind enough to share with her friends and when the audience thinks that Cat, Dog, and Duck won't help with dishes when the question is asked, they do!
