When the leaders of a number of gangs in Miami start dying, it's up to Horatio and the CSI crew to figure out who's behind the deaths -- and the answer will surprise you! Another great, quick CSI read. ( )This book is slightly more balanced for characters than the first CSI Miami book was, Horatio is still the centre point, but the other characters actually seem like supporting characters here instead of one shot guest appearances. Good use is made of the fact that this is a book unreliant on budget and time restraints and the plot is suitably scaled up, although the body count does get a little silly and maybe somewhat far-fetched. I read the entire thing in one night and enjoyed reading it, although it's unlikely to go down in my list of 'best books ever'. no reviews | add a review

Crime boss Kurt Wallace was fighting to hold his vast crime empire together -- until a few well-placed bullets ended the struggle. As a host of dangerous "business interests" move in to seize control of Wallace's piece of the Miami underworld, Caine's CSIs must piece together the evidence to discover who was responsible for the crime that all of Miami had a motive to commit.
