Throughout the story she pursued many of her aspirations, like dancing, singing, and even modeling. Although Poppy failed at these aspirations, she continued on with the support of her mother, grandparents, and good friend, Emma. Poppy eventually found her way to the ice skating rink. Her first time out she slipped and fell all over the rink. She continued to pursue her dream of becoming an ice skater. With practice and positive self talk, Poppy became an excellent ice skater. This book would be a great way to discuss setting goals, being disciplined, and believing in yourself. Through dedication and a positive attitude, your dreams really can come true. This book would be great for 1st-5th grade. This book is about a little piggy named Poppy who likes to dream big! With every activity she tries, people always put her down, but her family is always there to lift her up. She tries many things until one day she tries skating. Once again, this proves to be difficult for her, but she does not quit. She practices everyday until she is a master at skating. People love to watch her and finally her dreams come true. It ends with her trying another new thing. This book is best for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade. In the classroom, the teacher can talk about goals and relate it to the book. They can say that school is sometimes difficult, but with practice everything can be achieved! This fantasy book follows a young pig named Poppy on her quest to be great. She tries to be many things through he course of the book: a ballerina, a singer, and even a supermodel. Try as she might, Poppy failed at each one but she knew it would be alright because her friends and family would love her no matter what. One day the little pig decided to go for a stroll in the park with her best friend; they stumbled upon an ice rink and decided to give it a go. Poppy was quite bad at first but she loved it. She kept on practicing and practicing until she eventually mastered the sport, but she never stopped dreaming. no reviews | add a review
