( ) Like all other books in the Rainbow Fish collection, this one is a wonderful book that can relate to the theme of judging people before getting to know them. Through a cute story, children can learn the importance of getting to know people who are different from them. I believe this book should be incorporated into all younger level children's classrooms. Genre: Fantasy Media: ink and wash, glitter? This book is about a school of fish who live happily with as much food as they can eat. A whale comes along, and eats food, but one day the fish decided they whale wants to eat them as well. The whale gets angry at these accusations, and scares the fish. In the end, one brave fish decides to solve their conflict. This book does a great job of showing that sometimes false assumptions are made, that can really hurt feelings. Also, the way to solve conflict is by talking about it, not hiding from it. I would definitely use this book if my class was having problems with resolving conflict, or speeding rumors. I was not a big fan of the illustrations, but I definitely like the story line, and would use this in my classroom. no reviews | add a review
