Floors is about a boy named Leo Fillmore. His dad is the maintenance man. One day n the duck lift he finds a purple box with the owner of the Whippet Hotel head, Merganzer D Whippet. Soon after, Leo receives a letter from Mr Whippet's best friend, the lawyer George Powell, saying only Leo can save the hotel, and he must look for four boxes which he has 2 days to find. It is so fascinating. Everyone ages 9+ should read this book. When I read this book it made me so excited so that I could not put this book down and I fell in love with this book. I always keep reading and I never get tired of it. ( )

Wildly imaginative fun reading! "A good duck always comes in handy." I'm thrilled that this is Book 1, which means that there are more coming in the future. ( )

Fans of Roald Dahl's quirky stories will enjoy meeting Leo, who must solve the mystery of the Whippet Hotel, aided by a duck, a bellhop, and a talkative robot. First in a new series. ( )

Shame! Shame on the author and on Scholastic for allowing this manuscript to be published before a real editor had seen it. There's nothing wrong with the plot or characters or concept, but please spare us the character who has never "stepped foot" somewhere, and the hero whose "eye caught sight" of something. "His happiness brought out a wild glee that tumbled out of his mouth like candy." Say what? Just because an author has been on the NY Times bestseller list does not mean that he is above the editorial process. ( )
