I love the imagination that was just spilling out of the book!! The first time I encountered this book was as the audio, and the storyteller was great at imitating Ms.Sparks and Leo. It was also very hilarious because of Remi's character and other experiences that happened in the book. I love all the rooms in the Whippet hotel and how it gave new ideas that were unique to its own story. The mix of mystery and excitement was great and the way the author wrote it was something to enjoy. ( )

Leo Fillmore and his father work at the Whippet Hotel, the strangest hotel in New York. Every room and every floor has its own unique wackiness--the Cake Room, the Flying Farm, the Pinball Room--and on the roof, ducks! Maintaining the eccentric hotel just got a little harder for Leo and his dad since the disappearance of the owner, Mr. Merganzer Whippet, and what seem like acts of hotel sabotage. Then Leo receives a purple box. . . . Can he solve the solve the mysteries and keep the hotel running at the same time? For elementary age readers who like light mysteries, also good for fans of Roald Dahl and Vivian Vande Velde's Sammy Keyes series, though the writing here is definitely not on the same par. ( )

Leo lives in the basement of Whippet Hotel w/ his father.... They have lived there since Leo's mother died. The Whippet Hotel is no ordinary hotel, it has secret rooms, hidden floors, magical rooms, and a special elevator for the hotel's ducks. The guests are as odd as the hotel itself.

Merganizer Whippet has disappeared and the hotel manager, the very nasty Ms Sparks, has taken over. Then things begin to go awry, someone is sabotaging the hotel and it is up to Leo to solve the puzzle and save the hotel. Could it be the mysterious man who wants to purchase the hotel and tear it down?

There was so very much going on, that at first it was difficult for me to keep up.... but the story had a magical touch of creative eccentricity which kept me reading until the end. The story will delight most children who like the wacky world of inventions, fantasy & adventure all rolled into one. ( )

Floors is about a boy named Leo Fillmore. His dad is the maintenance man. One day n the duck lift he finds a purple box with the owner of the Whippet Hotel head, Merganzer D Whippet. Soon after, Leo receives a letter from Mr Whippet's best friend, the lawyer George Powell, saying only Leo can save the hotel, and he must look for four boxes which he has 2 days to find. It is so fascinating. Everyone ages 9+ should read this book. When I read this book it made me so excited so that I could not put this book down and I fell in love with this book. I always keep reading and I never get tired of it. ( )

Fans of Roald Dahl's quirky stories will enjoy meeting Leo, who must solve the mystery of the Whippet Hotel, aided by a duck, a bellhop, and a talkative robot. First in a new series. ( )
