This wonderful board book uses the original song of Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, and continues with the same cadence to tell a story of a little girl who goes on a magical journey all through the universe with the star. She sees the universe, as well as all the ways the star helps others in the world. Addresses the issue of imagination, space, and adventure. Use this book in the classroom to support early reading, phonemic awareness skills, vocabulary building, and creative writing. This book includes sheet music for instrumental accompaniment, if available. This book has the classic song that most children will know. The story has a young girl and her cat in it and the pictures are very pretty. I like this story because many children have heard the song at least once, so they are engaged more in what I am reading. The book is a perfect book for pre schoolers and young elementary students. When I read this to kids, I will first go over the classic song and ask them to sing along with me as I read. After the story, I will have them do some sort of activity either involving stars or space. A book with the well known song twinkle twinkle little star, except it has a longer version that children seem to like. The pictures are with a little girl who is looking at the stars with her cat. I like this story because the children already know the basic and can sing the song or read aloud with me. Also because it is a board book my smaller toddlers can have a chance to hold it and look it over. Children can sing the song as you read the story, and there are many art projects that can be made with stars such as sand art. colored sand and glue with a basic star shape. This is a good story if you are teaching shapes also. no reviews | add a review
