This Baen collection has two collections, a novel, and a couple of the Ezwal stories (War Against the Rull), etc. This includes both the Clane of Linn books, with a brief intro saying they wanted to provide a bit of a representative sample of Van Vogt's wild stories, and there is a bit more of an explanation at the end. Another worthy project.

A postapocalyptic planetary war story of sorts. Clane is a mutant boy who survives thanks to the power and influence of his parents, and grows up to be quite influential, whether against Martians, Venusians, Europan barbarians, running spy rings or blasting the hell out of people.

The second book about Clane - and this time he has an even worse problem.

The alien invading Riss that caused such problems for humans in the distant past are back, and humanity has a much lower technology level and little understanding of what they do have Clane excepted. Political infighting and his barbarian opponent all have to be dealt with if he is to have the slightest chance of saving them. Civilising politicians and barbarians might be harder than defeating alien invaders though.

A wild Van Vogt space adventure fixup. Dellian robots aren't, as such, but people with enhanced abilities - but breed with others and you get 'Mixed Men' who have mental superpowers.

They are also attempting to hide from the Galactic Empire - but no luck there, unless the woman leading the seek, locate and hopefully not destroy type mission and the leader of the Mixed Men can come to some sort of less violent agreement. Love, telepathy and spaceships.

Contains the entire Clane saga -"Empire of the Atom" and "The Wizard of Linn"- The Clane saga is one of my favorite Van Vogt efforts. A good VanVogt acquistion to grab if you're interested in his work. ( )
