Interesting take on what happens when Cupid no longer behaves like Cupid. How bad can it be for the young attorneys who can't fall in love?

Silly, enjoyable read. It was a fun little book. It could have been a bit better. I felt that the relationships were superficial, even the ones that were supposed to be long and emotionally tied. No great novel here, just a "what if." ( )

It just did not make a lot of sense for me. Sorry. ( )

Attorney Ben Bonner has just been kicked out of his condo by his girlfriend of a year who hs just told him she has fallen in love at first sight with a man from her gym. Dazed and finding his stuff already packed he turns to his best friend ex-fiance Carey. When Carey's fiance, Chip, finds out that all the stories he was told about the ex-fiance was Ben, Carey decides to take quick action and find Ben another place to stay. But when Ben moves in and meets his child-like roommate his very world spins out of control. This story was laugh out loud funny and a great way to spend an afternoon in the sun. ( )

What would you do if you had just found the love of your life and then turned around and broke Cupid? There is no hope that your chosen one will fall in love with you as long as Cupid is broken. This is a delightful story and fun to read. With the mentioning of a man nursing a child to the fight clubs that appear outside a window one should truly enjoy this short book. The characters are interesting and fun to get to know. Very good read. ( )

I'll admit this was a very cute story and I particularly enjoyed the reference to gazelle and lioness fight clubs, as well as the lactating man! For a short story it was enjoyable and I was able to read it in one sitting (now that I finally have my Kobo back!) and liked it. However, it needs a good and thorough edit. There were quite a few spelling, grammar and incorrect words that should have been cleaned up. Once done it's a good read for anyone looking for a sappy feel-good story! ( )

Book description
Ben Bonner is an uptight, conservative lawyer who has everything except for love. After one heart break too many, his best friend Carey arranges for him to move in with a magical character named Jack. Urban legend has it that whoever lives with Jack will immediately find their soul mate and live happily ever after. However this match comes with a catch because Jack is also a middle-aged party animal. And although he finds his roommates love, Jack also ruins every other aspects of their life.
Desperate to find his special one, Ben moves in and immediately meets Anna Henderson, a smart, beautiful woman who takes Ben's breathe away. Anna, though, isn't the type to sit around waiting for a man. She's witty, spirited and she has a few secrets of her own. In fact, she isn't even sure how much she likes Ben... which makes it too bad that in his frustration, Ben breaks Jack's Cupid-like powers. With his powers gone, not only is Jack unable to get Anna to fall in love, but no one else in the world will be able to fall in love either.
So now with his life crumbling around him and the love of his life fading away, it becomes essential for Ben to get Anna's help so that together they can; fix Jack, help the world to love again, and just maybe, live happily ever after.
