7. The Killing Dance by Lau ... ... such a drastic change in the quality of writing/editing/plot/everything. Especially considering what an excellent read Obsidian Butterfly was.
I also agree with everyone who was dissappointed with Wuthering Heights there was definitly not enough time spent on Heathcliff and Catherine and ... ... to them....
And this one was good too, because she finally brought back Edward, who I don't think we've seen since Obsidian Butterfly. Great character!
Hope it comes in for you soon, Lori! ... Moon by Laurell K. Hamilton

I used to read the Anita Blake series, and loved it, but I think the series went downhill after Obsidian Butterfly. I've read the series up to Incubus Dreams and after that I just quit reading them. I haven't read any of the last few that have come out. I like the Merry Gentry series ... ... when I was nine years old and quickly moved on to Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Edmund Crispen, Josephine Tey, Nicholas Blake Cyril Hare and others. Of those still living, I like PD Jamesand Ruth Rendell.
Is anyone else a fan of the traditional British mystery ... McKinleys Sunshine and Charlaine Harris Sokie Stackhouse Dead until dark series over Laurell Hamiltons Anita Blake series.
Talking PI's I'd say Simon Greens Nightside series is some of the best.

I made it through Hamilton's latest Gentry novel, Mistral's Kiss but I refuse to buy anymore of her books unless she provides some plot movement, ANY plot movement. Or even GOOD kinky sex. In Kiss, there ... ... ven

Serpent's Reach by C. J. Cherryh
Spirit Fox by Mickey Zucher Reichert
Swan Song by Robert ... My above post about Queen of the Slayers reminded me of another truly rotten genre book, Obsidian Butterfly by Laurell K. Hamilton. It's one of a series of books about a demon-hunting heroine. As a Buffy freak, I really wanted to like it.
But when I finally finished it and was able to ... Any book by Laurel K. Hamilton since Obsidian Butterfly. She has turned Anita Blake into a sex addict.
Life of Pi did not charm me and I could not finish it.
A Game of Thrones went on and on and left without me.
The Historian was damned dull despite the fact that I wanted to ... I agree with you about the Anita Blake series. I very much enjoyed the books through Obsidian Butterfly, but haven't even bothered to read the latest additions. What a change!
Unfortunately, I don't have anything useful to suggest instead. I think part of the reason the early Anita books were ... ... I was a big fan of the Anita Blake vampire hunter series from Laurell K. Hamilton. Think the last real good book was Obsidian Butterfly but since then the books turned into smut that seems more an excuse to write sex scenes one after another without ending or real sense. The story has ...
