Storeetllr, I have! I read a Louise Marley book (The Maquisarde)on your recommendation, I believe. I want to read more, but I never see her in the bookstore. I am going to have to check out the library, I think--cheaper that way, anyway. Or, I could buy online, but I am trying to cut back ... Has anyone read any Louise Marley? She wrote some excellent sci-fi novels, including The Terrorists of Irustan and The Goddess Child, with well-thought out themes of current interest.
Some of the other sci-fi novels by women that I have read and loved are Tepper's Gate and Grass; Tipt ... ... the others.
Honorable mentions:
Schrodinger's Ball by Adam Febler, just because it was bizarre and kind of fun
The Maquisarde by Louise Marley, because it made me want to read more Marley, even if it didn't rise to the level of a favorite book
Interestingly enough, all of my ... I just finished The Maquisarde by Louise Marley, and now I am re-reading Dune. Sci-fi novel about a woman living in a dystopian society who loses her husband and child in a senseless terrorist attack and joins the resistance, bent on revenge. It started out really good and carried through that way until the very end, ... You make The Maquisarde sound so good, I went and ordered it from amazon. I love a good dystopia.
I am reading Slan by A. E. Van Vogt right now. I got a list of SF Classics somewhere (I think a link from a thread on this board), and I am trying to catch up on some classics that I have ... Finished HP7 and started The Maquisarde by Louise Marley, a dystopian novel about a sheltered musician who loses her husband and daughter in a senseless terrorist attack and turns into a resistance fighter bent on revenge. Pretty good reading! Also still listening to The Road and ... I'm reading The Maquisarde by Louise Marley, a dystopian novel in which a sensitive, sheltered musician loses her husband and child in a senseless terrorist attack and becomes a resistance fighter bent on revenge. Really good reading. I'm wondering if she has some difficulty writing endings. I read the Glass Harmonica, Child Goddess, and most recently the Maquisarde. The characters and ideas are all great, but there's not much zing there at the end, that keeps her from being a favorite author.
The all time worst ...
