After being bitten by a genetically-modified spider, a shy teenager gains spider-like abilities that he uses to fight injustice as a masked superhero and face a vengeful enemy.
Rated PG-13 for stylized violence and action

Pretty good origin story, solid cast. The special effects looked a little cartoonish in places, and the ending ticked me off. ( )

A teenager gets super powers, and his friend's dad gets killy.

Shamelessly, gleefully hackneyed. I guess it's too late now to hope for a J. Jonah Jameson spin-off series.
