I agree, I read The Eight when it came out, and just loved it (5 stars!) So it's hard for me not to compare The Fire to it.. and I guess that's a little unfair. The book was entertaining, and fun, but just didn't grip me and grab me like the 1st one did. I enjoyed the historical parts, and ... 86. The Fire by Katherine Neville. Same plot line as The Eight only more complicated, more confusing and less likable characters. Disappointing. ... “Huh?” for the subtle and obtuse psychological stuff he spouted. I'm also starting Little Women today as well. #330: the first one is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. The UK cover to be exact. don't know the second book. I just finished The Fire I'll be interested in what you thought about it. Also how the second reading of The Eight held up for you. ... Over this weekend there was a woman counting out change for her transaction and she told me she didn't know the coins. Goblet of Fire. (There was more than one time Mr. Weasley had trouble with muggle money, but it made me think of that book.) Mr. Weasley's awesome. :) ... to such an extent in the book it is hard for me when it doesn't match when the movie comes out. (I, likewise, felt that Goblet of Fire was a poor representation of the book.)

Lucky me! I got The Fire, and I'm thrilled. I remember really enjoying The Eight, but it's been over ten years since I read it, so I think I'll have to revisit it before starting The Fire.

I highly enjoyed the Harry Potter movies prior to Goblet of Fire because of it's large differences from the book. (Prior to that I was agreeable with the movies, since then not so much.)
I really can't think of any ... Order of the Phoenix wasn't quite as bad a movie for me as Goblet of Fire was. Although, I did miss the jelly brains that Ron encounters in the Ministry of Magic and I really wanted to see the hospital scene it wasn't quite as disappointing overall as GoF was.
I don't like how they did Siriu ... Goblet of Fire disappointed me to no end. The book was good, but the movie left too many things out. The house elves are omitted and are left out. I enjoyed that part of the book. The scene at the camp for the Quidditch World Cup was also lacking. Harry's wand never disappears in the melee.

Anyway, yesterday I finished listening to Prisoner of Azkaban so today I started Goblet of Fire. I also finished the book (never K, I'll never admit it!) which I really, really enjoyed. Today I brought The Constant Princess with me to be my ... ... this cake. It's an Amercian copy of Goblet of Fire. I'm late in starting this topic, mostly because I got distracted around the start of the year and my list was pathetic for the first two and a half months. I've picked up again and remembered that, hey, I never posted it! So, here I am. :)
It's my first time challenging myself to read a certain ... One series is missing from this list, The Dragon Quartet. It consists of The Book of Earth, The Book of Water, The Book of Fire and The Book of Air by Marjorie B. Kellogg.
One of the best elemental series I've read besides Sharon Green! Finished #2 Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire ... the game, but I'm pretty sure I can get 50 in by the end of the year. Right now I'm working on An Incomplete Revenge and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Finished #1 Lord, Save us from your Followers ... make a large dent in them.
