Genre: This book is a good example of historical fiction because it is the story of a pioneer family in New Hampshire as they celebrate Thanksgiving. There is an emergency in the family and the children decide to make a Thanksgiving feast to surprise their parents, using historical implements and cooking old-fashioned treats.

Setting: This book is set in the hills of New Hampshire in the late 1800s.

This book would be good for 2nd or 3rd grade, because there are more words on each page.There are also great illustartions as well. This book would be great to read around the Thanksgiving holidays.
