Covers canine family, but not Canis familiaris specifically. Lacks glossary of technical vocabulary, but the index is well constructed so you can find things quickly. ( )

I have enjoyed this book to simply learn about wildlife, but it has also been very useful to identify animal signs around my home. Specifically, after reading small portions of the book, I identified moose's "spaghetti stripping" on quaking aspens and signs of snowshoe hares feeding on small trees.

It also includes numerous plates of mammal tracks; descriptions and photos, and explanations of scat, kills, dens, and other signs.

I highly recommend it! ( )
