Branded Outlaw

Weston’s father wrote a letter to him to come home, and watch out for a varmint named Dodge. But when he returns home, he finds his father dead, his ranch hands and cattle gone, and one burning desire to take care of Dodge.

His first attempt almost kills him. In his escape he is saved by a beautiful woman who happens to be Dodge’s daughter! Holy matrimony!

Did Dodge do it? Or is there some other rustler pitting the two against each other and collect from both of them?

Cool Western by Hubbard. Short and sweet novelette.

Fun to listen to - if you like Olde' Style Radio Dramas, this is a fun one to add to your collection. Nothing out of the ordinary, but easy to imagine John Wayne saving the day. ( )

The treatment of the Mexican characters is about as politically incorrect as you can get. I did enjoy how strong the female character was. If I was 10 year old boy I think I would have loved it.
Listening to radio play type recordings is always fun. ( )

The quality of the recording and the readers is very good. Typical western in that someone dies, someone seeks revenge, and a woman nurses an injured man back to health. ( )

Book description
Lee Weston is blamed for rustling cattle, which he's almost lynched for. But nothing will stop him from finding his father's killer . . . until he's framed for shooting the father of the only girl he's ever looked at more than once and now the whole town is after him!
Haiku summary

No descriptions found.

When Tom Weston writes to his son with the news that his old enemy Harvey Dodge is back in town, Lee Weston loses no time in returning to New Mexico, only to find his father murdered and the family ranch burned to the ground. Certain that Dodge is the guilty party, Lee sets out for revenge but gets more than he bargained for when he's attacked by gunmen, wounded, and forced to flee to the mountains. The beautiful girl who comes across his unconscious body and nurses him back to health is none other then Dodge's headstrong daughter Ellen. When Lee insists on continuing his vendetta, he gets himself into a heap more trouble - false accusations, a near-lynching at the hands of an angry mob, and the scorn of the only girl he ever looked at more than once.… (more)
