When skulls are unearthed at 6 Ellsworth Place, an ancient compound built in the late 1800s in the posh Pacific Heights of San Francisco, Lieutenant Lindsay Boxer and her partner Richy Conklin are dispatched. They find a gruesome crime scene and a host of weird suspects. Lindsay deals with a lot in this eleventh book in The Women's Murder Club. She's pregnant, chasing a vengeance killer targeting low-life drug dealers, and investigating skulls missing their bodies. To top it off, she receives information that her new husband, Joe, is cheating! No! Not Joe! There isn't a dull moment in this book. The plot twists include a shoot-out, a near miscarriage, and lots of action. I love these books. They are witty, entertaining, and emotional. What's not to like? ( ) 11th Hour Women’s Murder Club, Book 11 I Picked Up This Book Because: Continue the series. Media Type: Audiobook Source: CCP Library Dates Read: 1/14/22 - 1/16/22 Stars: 3 The Characters: Lindsay Boxer: Police detective Clair Washburn: Medical Examiner Yuki Castellano: Attorney Cindy Thomas: Crime desk reporter The Story: There were some changes in the book, namely the narrator, that distracted me from the story. While I was in for the mystery the back and forth got old a little quickly and the ending wrapped up entirely too quickly for all of what was going on. I think more attention needed to be given to the personal issues but it is what it is. I was still hooked and am going to get to the next story soon. The Random Thoughts: Challenges: A to Z Reading Challenge 2021 - Goodreads Book Bingo 2022 - N2 - A book with a two word title Probably a 3.5. There are two series of murders assigned to Lindsay Boxer: a vigilante killing drug dealers, and two skulls found at the home of a famous movie star. A disgruntled cop is suspected in the former killings and even though the movie star does not live there, he has always been a suspect in the mysterious disappearance of his wife. The Women's Murder Club is back in action although the drama between a pregnant Lindsay and her husband is absolutely pathetic. no reviews | add a review
