Personal Response:
I like that the author explains that this story originates in Spain, but has many versions in Latin America as well. While half-chicken is proud of her individuality and a little less equipped than other chickens, she is willing to help out others and is rewarded in the end.
Curricular Connections:
I would use this story in a storytime about legends from around the world/origin stories. ( )
