We learn of culture, morals and agricultural science from this piece of oral history passed down from Oaxaca, Mexico. It is a splendid ancient folktale celebrating nature.

1. A young man called Juan Zanute, main character used to sit under his favorite tree dreaming and planning his life with his friend's birds . His father died. He wanted his own land to plant. Although he asked the richest man in town to borrow a little piece of land he was rejected easily. Next he asked the old man of the town, he rent out it with conditions. And he managed to get some seeds and grew them having the advice from one of the birds. Finally he brought a magnificent harvest selling an excellent prices. Through making his success every one was eager to know how to do and work with him.
