I knew nothing about Emma Frost except that she wears slutty white outfits and is generally disliked (hated?) by some X-Men fans. This book sort of didn't help in making her a more sympathetic character. What drew me to it was the size (it's one of those Marvel manga-sized digests) and the pretty cover. The story is overwrought melodrama that would have been better suited to primetime TV. Thing is, the drama isn't even compelling! I don't mind reading soap opera-ish stories, but this Emma Frost storyline just seemed mediocre to me. If you're going to do drama, do it big! Go crazy! (
