A nice collection of stories about the movers and shakers of Chicago. Society matrons and underworld bosses are both written about in the classic Chicago reporting style of storytelling. The first part of the book is a little archaic in it's language and deals with the city up to the time of Mayor Thompson. The revised section deals with the first Daley's reign, and throws alot more names out in a smaller space. Good fun. ( )
