A novel alphabet book with a good message of forgiveness at the end. I appreciated the adorable and funny cartoonish illustrations and the diversity of students represented. I also liked that the teacher helped the children apologize and forgive each other.

Alphabet book that emphasizes the cause and effect of a classroom of noisy children, each of whose name starts with a different letter of the alphabet. It starts with "Adelaide annoyed Bailey.." By the end of the book, all of the students had apologized and it was... "a very quiet afternoon". This is a cute book that connects the alphabet letters in a clever and action filled way. The characters in the book are all students (and their teacher).

This is a fun book and it very clearly highlights the letters for the children. The illustrations do a nice job of depicting the mischief that each child gets into. This book ends with apologies, which can be a nice tool for further conversations about the need for apologies if you do something wrong or hurt someone's feelings. It would need to be clear that students should not try any of the activities in the book! ( )

Kids like to read bout other kids doing bad things or behaving badly or being grumpy. That is why this is a really good idea for an ABC book, a fun theme that I am sure is popular with the kids, and a good amount of vocabulary words can be found in this book! Words such as stumbling, tumbling weeping. The rhyming is really effective as well. And there is a good ending to all the huffing and puffing and mishaps. An apology, that is always a good thing!

In another unique approach to the alphabet, Bottner uses kids names to correspond with each letter. Through this 'annoying' tale, we make it to the end of the alphabet where the only thing left to do, is to apologize. ( )
