I remember Interview as being a long, involved, intricate read. I read The Vampire Lestat, but couldn't get into Queen of the Damned. I haven't read a "serious" vampire book for a while, but do like what I've just learned is "urban fantasy" (Charlaine Harris, Laurell K. Hamilton, ... I've only read two from this batch ~ A Brief History of Time and Queen of the Damned. Hawking lost me somewhere around the middle, when he was talking about quarks, I think it was, but I kept the book and intend to get back to it sometime. I'm hoping my mind has matured enough, without my ... ... out in the desert sun for several days and only winds up with a severe case of sunburn. I think that book may have been Queen Of The Damned. I have her New Tales Of The Vampire series however I haven't gotten around to finish reading The Vampire Chronicles. When I finish reading The Vampi ... Interview With the Vampire is my favorite and I can tolerate portions of Queen of the Damned. Following that, I would say Servant of the Bones or The Mummy. ... Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice (though the movie was terrible!)
Christine by Stephen King
War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells
I Am Legend by Richard Matheson I was wrong. There is a political angle to this thread.
Vampire-genre author Anne Rice endorsed Hillary Clinton, Queen of the Damned. ... of Queens...
Queen Euphoria
The Queen in Winter
The Queen of Darkness
the aforementioned Queen of Sorcery, Queen of the Damned
...and
The Quest Begins
Quest Crosstime
The Quotable Golfer ... QB VII
David Eddings' Queen of Sorcery
Henryk Sienkiewicz's Quo Vadis
and these:
Anne Rice's The Queen of the Damned
Alexander Dumas' The Queen's Necklace
Charles Palliser's The Quincunx
(if we're allowed Q books that start with 'The')
And ... Wow, this is the most I've read off of any of the lists put out so far. I have read: Mitla Pass, Queen of the Damned, and The Sands of Time. I love Anne Rice and Sidney Sheldon both, but I know what u mean about Anne beating a dead horse! How much more do we need to know about Lestat? ... I think I got married that year. Hmmm.
I've only read The Queen of the Damned out of this bunch. I used to be fond of Anne Rice but after a while I realized no one can beat a dead horse quite like she can, even if it is all the way to the bank.
1. The Cardinal of the Kremlin, Tom C ... ... chance of getting in, but just in case:
The Caretaker - he was an evil dude and possibly
The Sociopath Next Door
The Queen of the Damned - arrogant bitch she was
Red Dragon - Francis was a freak
Dracula - pretty much goes without saying, but hey ... though, are the Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice. Absolutely unbelievable, and some of them--particularly Queen of the Damned and Memnoch the Devil--are scary as hell. (In the case of Memnoch, perhaps literally...) ... of Lestat.
I wish someone would make a movie (or three, or a TV miniseries) out of The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned that follows the plot of the novels much more closely than the 2002 movie did. The only real idea I have for casting is for a relatively minor ... I am a huge fan of Anne Rice, and though Queen of the Damned and Memnoch the Devil were the only books of the Vampire Chronicles to really frighten me, the one character that kept me awake at night (and still does, now and then) is Nicolas de Lenfent, from The Vampire Lestat. When ... Random observation: Queen of the Damned is a lot more frightening the second time through... I'm currently rereading The Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice––one of my favorite books in the Vampire Chronicles, second only to Memnoch the Devil. Ah, Memnoch is my favorite of the Vampire Chronicles. I'm currently on my second time through Queen of the Damned. ... then that I'd like to read again one day include:

From my more recent reading, I'd enjoy rereading the following:

I do however, own The Vampire Book: The Encyclopedia of the Undead. ... actually exist, that's scary and exciting all in one. She hasn't gotten it a 100% but by far I can't get enough of her--The Queen of the Damned being my favourite Rice novel.

(Oh, and re: Queen of the Damned - that is actually one of my favorites of the Vampire Chronicles, but I realized that when I re-read it, I just re-read the history parts and skim the Le ... I also struggled to finish Queen of the Damned. I got through it, but I think it was a terrible book. The same scene just kept repeating over and over and over again. ... was interested in this area of the market?
To name but a few, here are some of the cream of the crop of those I read:
Who Was Boudicca?: Warrior Queen ~ Sian Busby
Plague Sorcerer ~ Christopher Russell
Wolf Girl ~ Theresa Tomlinson
Endymion Spring ~ Matthew Skelton
... ... reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. So far I have read: Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of The Body Thief and Blood and Gold. I intend to purchase Memnoch the Devil when I get my next paycheque.
My favourate so far has ... ... and I really enjoyed The Vampire Lestat even though the characters had suddenly changed drastically, but I couldn't stand Queen of the Damned and struggled to finish it. It felt like she was just repeating the same story again and again and again with only the most minor additions each time.
