... than Catherine Howard, but of the books I've read featuring Catherine Howard (I think my Catherine Howard count comes to The Boleyn Inheritance and My Lady of Cleves, if anyone is curious), I think this one is probably the best. Catherine is portrayed as a victim of her family's ambition ...

... better ones. I really enjoyed the tudor books The Constant Princess (an inspiring heroine), The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Boleyn Inheritance. ETA In fact, going by the reviews, some people who read Wideacres first were so put off they decided not to read any more by her!

I've recently finished reading "The Boleyn Inheritance", which is told from the three alternating viewpoints of Anne of Cleves, Kathryn Howard & Jane (Boleyn) Rochford).

... books for an Historical Fiction discussion class/group: "The Clan of the Cave Bear", The Birth of Venius" and "The Boleyn Inheritance". The place of women in a society/group is a theme common to the three novels, although each takes place in a different time/era and place. The first ...

Finished "The Boleyn Inheritance" today. It certainly presents interesting points of view of the latter period of Henry VIII's rule; the powerplays that went on in his court, the helplessness of the individuals & of the women ensnared in those power struggles.

I saw the film adaptation of "The Other Boleyn Girl" when it was in theaters, and am just finishing "The Boleyn Inheritance" (for an Historical fiction discussion group). I'm finding "The Boleyn Inheritance" interesting, since it presents the story from three different women's points of view. I ...

... three different titles for Historical fiction class ("The Clan of the Cave Bear", then "The Birth of Venus", and now "The Boleyn Inheritance"). Last spring, I read part one of "Anna Karinina", set that aside to read "The Portrait of a Lady", then returned to reading "Anna Karinina". ...

Continuing with "The Boleyn Inheritance"...OK so far.

Having finished "The Age of Innocence", I've started "The Boleyn Inheritance".

... to read later, after I find & read two additional 'historical fiction' novels: "The Birth of Venus" by Sarah Dunant, and "The Boleyn Inheritance" by Philippa Gregory, for my "Historical Fiction" discussion group. Next, I'll be starting "The Age of Innocence" for a 'fiction' read & discuss ...

I finished (24) Pride and Prejudice almost a week ago and (25) The Boleyn Inheritance a few hours ago. I'm still reading In Cold Blood and Death with interruptions

46. The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory Spoiler alert! Yet another book about the Tudors. But with a twist. This book is told from the first person perspective, by three different women (Jane Rochford, Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard). The widely different characters of the ...

... it. I know, I know, what was I thinking? To be perfectly honest, I have read and enjoyed both The Other Boleyn Girl and The Boleyn Inheritance - but I enjoyed them in the way that I enjoy watching a Kate Hudson movie or reading a tabloid. Everyone needs a break now and then, and today I ...

... Other Queen (I actually thought The Other Queen was pretty bad), and she does the multiple voices with much more skill in The Boleyn Inheritance. You might as well skip The Virgin's Lover, the woman seems to have a serious grudge against Elizabeth I.

8. The Boleyn Inheritence by Philippa Gregory I didn't enjoy this one as much as The Other Boleyn Girl, I didn't like the three first person narrators, especially since I knew enough history to know at least one was going to end up dead. I guess it would have been difficult to write the ...

... alone as far as how they were written. To get the best timeline I would read them in this order: The Other Boleyn Girl, The Boleyn Inheritance, and The Queen's Fool. I noticed you left out some of her other books and I approve, the three you picked are, in my opinion, the best three. Her ...

What order should I read The Boleyn Inheritance, The Other Boleyn Girl, and The Queen's Fool? Will they stand alone? Am I missing any that are in paperback? Are they all equally worth reading?

Well The Boleyn Inheritance is the next book chronologically which is about Henry's forth and fifth wives Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard. If you remember Jane Parker (george boleyn's wife) she's also in this book and my god what a cow that woman is. There's The Queen's Fool is set during M ...

... that. Having loved The Other Boleyn Girl, I definitely recommend it to fans of historical fiction, and follow it with The Boleyn Inheritance if you must, but leave the rest alone. I think I've finally learned my lesson and will be avoiding Gregory from now on. (ETA cover art)

... The Other Boleyn Girl doesn't deal with Jane as Henry's wife, just as his not-quite mistress and I'm pretty sure that The Boleyn Inheritance only covers Anne of Cleves and Katherine Howard, not Katherine Parr at all, so she's still missing wives 3 and 6. Also, The Queen's Fool is more ...

Hi Nobis - I read The Boleyn Inheritance last year, and I agree, it was better than The Other Boleyn Girl. Neither are exactly great literature, but still a lot of fun to read! I loved the character of Jane Parker, but one of the things that always bothers me about these books is that none of ...

Try The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory for Anne of Cleves and Catherine Howard. I liked it better than Gregory's other book, The Other Boleyn Girl. For non- fiction( actually after reading The Other Boleyn Girl I ran to) I went to Six Wives: the Queens of Henry VIIIby David Star ...

#68 ktleyed I (and many other people) have been disappointed by The Boleyn Inheritance and her latest one, The Other Queen. It seems to me that she is churning them out far too fast, with no consideration for characterisation, detailing or storytelling. Her later ones are nowhere near as ...

I was very disappointed in The Boleyn Inheritence by Philippa Gregory. I liked some of the earlier books in her Tudor series, but this one seemed just like a throwaway. I couldn't stand it, I didn't care for or care about anyone in the book - they all got what they deserved!

... it’s been downhill since The Other Boleyn Girl. I did enjoy The Queen’s Fool and The Virgin’s Lover, and The Boleyn Inheritance was up to par as well. But after The Constant Princess and now this, The Other Queen, I can’t help but feel that Gregory is just dashing them ...

The Boleyn Inheritance was returned to the friend who had loaned it to me. I had loaned her The Constant Princess and The Other Boleyn Girl, which she enjoyed so much that she offered to buy the last one. Very nice of her, I thought, though I'm a bit sad that I don't own the whole set.

... on The Virgin's Lover by Philippa Gregory. Let me start by saying that I'm not a gung ho Gregory fan. I enjoyed The Boleyn Inheritance; thought The Other Boleyn Girl, The Queen's Fool, and Virgin Earth were OK; and really disliked The Constant Princess. I haven't read any of ...

I was disappointed in The Boleyn Inheritence as well. Drat, I was hoping The Other Queen would be a good book. Guess, I'll pass on this one.

... books seemed to be the best ones, I hear her latest The Other Queen is not that great. I was very disappointed with The Boleyn Inheritence.

#97 - lunacat - I agree, her later books were not as good, I really didn't like The Boleyn Inheritence one bit, though I did enjoy The Other Boleyn Girl and the one on Katharine of Aragon. I haven't read her latest yet, The Other Queen I think it is?

Review now up for The Boleyn Inheritance One of the better books by Gregory that I've read....or rather listened to...in a long while. The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory - beautifully written sequel to The Other Boleyn Girl

Hey compski! Thanks for stopping by! I did like The Boleyn Inheritance quite a bit actually. One of the things I particularly enjoyed was that the chapters were much shorter than the other books in the series. This was handy since it was my lunch time reading. I also liked getting 3 ...

Hi Bib! You have some good books here. It looks like you read more than three a year :) How did The Boleyn Inheritance turn out. Did you like it?

I finished The Boleyn Inheritance last night and will get started on The Queen's Fool on Monday. Today I'm concentrating on The Book Thief. I doubt I'll finish it, as Holly is having a BBQ, but I'm going to give it my best shot! ETA: Oh yeah, and I started Deathly Hallows yesterday.... ...

Yes, I'm really loving The Boleyn Inheritance. I recommend giving it a shot!

Still working on my Tudor books and just finished The Boleyn Inheritance - what a disappointment! I barely liked it. I could not get into the characters, hated the choppiness of the chapters and the changing viewpoints of the three women, and I found it repulsive imagining big fat gross Henry ...

I just finished The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory and was disappointed with it, and now I am starting A Highlander for Christmas by Sandy Blair. I've been looking forward to reading this, since I really like this author!

I just finished The Boleyn Inheritence, I found it a bit disappointing, not nearly as good as her other Tudor novels. I didn't hate it, but I don't think I liked a single character in this book!
