Really useful book to help learn some basics, and also advanced enough to keep around for reference after I feel comfortable with the basics. It sometimes moves too fast, but it’s a book, and you can always refer to it again when you’ve caught up to the content. ( )

This is a great resource for beginning Ukulele Players! It starts from the beginning of holding the instrument, to chords, plucking out melodies, and putting everything together. It also offers how to play different styles of music and how to strum correctly.

I have a few other beginner books, and this is the first one that clearly showed me how strumming works with playing a song. Other books I've tried were too basic and put too much emphasis on learning chords, rather than actual technique. Chords are easy to learn, technique, not so much.

I haven't listened to the CD that goes with this book. A few of the songs have a barcode URL Smartphone thingy. This is helpful, but there is not enough barcode links to make it useful.

This is the only book you need for getting started on the Ukelele. ( )
