This is a story of parents telling their child how much they desired him. They got a call about him, made a quilt and prepared their lives to change for the better. That even though they are not his birth parents they love him just as much if not more because he belongs to/with them.

This book is considered a crisis in my eyes because I was adopted as a child and it was a traumatic experience to learn about. This book is from the mother and father perspective explaining to the child how they got everything ready for h8im and how he came to them through the phone. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0761315977, Hardcover)

The loving voices of a child's parents tell the story of an adoption, from waiting to meet the baby for the first time through the growth of a family. Peter Catalanotto's vibrant illustrations form a clever and dramatic counterpoint to the text: presented as a series of family snapshots, the images run backward in time.
