The book is about the poems of discovery, and describe the universally experienced by children.

This book of poems has thoughtful poetry about a variety of topics from pencils to clocks to rainbows, to shells. These poems are great for critical thinking and teaching poetic devices. They can also be incorporated with CRISS reading strategies. Beautiful pictures accompany each poem and reinforce its topic. ( )

I love these poems. Barbara Esbensen tunes in to the discoveries of imagination and makes them present to us. "There is a long story living/ in the shortest pencil" ! ( )
