Neither your typical travelog nor your typical photo homage to Venice. Instead this is an idiosyncratic story of a woman following a particular man on his travels in Venice and photographing him surreptitiously - annotating his movements with meticulous detail even if she isn't equally transparent about her own emotional reactions to the quest. The late winter light adds a bleakness to the photos even beyond Ms Calle's deliberate effort to blur and compress frames. Unique, but odd. ( )
