A quick and easy read, good for a plane or the beach. Rylann is a U.S. Attorney, and Kyle is the Twitter Terrorist, a rich kid who is a whiz at IT and who single-handedly hacked into Twitter and shut the site down for two days in reaction to his famous girlfriend's callous and very public breakup tweet. Rylann and Kyle met once at university, but nine years later, at Kyle's hearing that will release him early from prison, Rylann is the attorney. And so the fun begins. The writing isn't anything to savor, but neither does it get in the way, and the book really hits its stride in its snappy humor and dialogue ("Did you do anything exciting last night? Yes. Kyle Rhodes"). This should appeal to fans of Jennifer Crusie and Rachel Gibson. ( )

Wow, Kyle Rhodes, so much more than just another pretty face. Rylann and Kyle have a fantastic history before they meet again in the courtroom, and I really enjoyed reading how both of them work through their issues to be together. Also, Kyle's a talker. Be still my heart. ( )

I was not even sure if I will read this book because the first two books in the series were just ok for me. But I liked this one, the best so far. ( )

So here's the plot of [b:About That Night|11235783|About That Night (FBI / US Attorney, #3)|Julie James|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1333665032s/11235783.jpg|16161897]: a guy and a girl go out for a while, and then the decide to get serious.

Yes, if you strip a lot of romances down to their bones, that's what you'd end up with. The problem with ABOUT THAT NIGHT is that it doesn't require that much stripping. For the first half of the book, Rylann and Kyle can't go out because he's a witness in a case she's prosecuting, and then for the second half that impediment is gone and then it's really just, 'Hmm, so are we just hooking up or is it something more?'

It's pretty much the least eventful romance ever - and this from Julie James, every one of whose past books has completely charmed me. [b:Just the Sexiest Man Alive|3863861|Just the Sexiest Man Alive|Julie James|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1266998279s/3863861.jpg|3909033] and [b:Something About You|6642402|Something About You (FBI / US Attorney, # 1)|Julie James|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327933063s/6642402.jpg|6836876] are all-time favorites of mine. And yes, her wit, her characters who so effortlessly blend charm and ambition are still here. It's still a smart book with some great moments. But it's also mechanical, bland, by-the-books, and dull. 4.5 stars. Well, this one had a lot less suspense than the last two, since the FBI characters were peripheral.

I love when a hero and heroine have a "history"... :) In this case, it was only about 30 minutes of history (albeit including one really great kiss), but it was memorable enough that when Rylann and Kyle meet again 9 years later, both of them remember. (SUPER CUTE!)

Anyway, Rylann Pierce is an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) who has just transferred to Chicago (working under Cameron from Book 1). And day 1, she has to step in for another AUSA who's busy... The case? The one Jordan was promised in Book 2: Getting her twin brother, Kyle Rhodes, off with time served. And when their eyes meet across the courtroom... haha! Well. They both remember.

And then Rylann gets another case where Kyle is a possible witness... (Conveniently enough...) So they keep getting thrown into each others' paths. And they're definitely still attracted to each other. But she CAN'T get involved with a witness on a case! (The conversation she has about this with her best friend Rae is hilarious, btw! Loved that!)

And then, when the case is over, and things start to *cough* pick up, she's really worried about being an AUSA who's dating an ex-con (even though his crime was like... SOOOOO not that big a deal (at least in my eyes!!)). So they have this secret underground relationship...

My only complaint was, again, with the f-bombs. Not sexy. Just coarse. Seriously.

Anyway, other than that, it was SO CUTE! I stayed up until nearly 6 AM reading it. OOPS!!!! ( )
