Not Even For Love by Sandra Brown
Reeves Grant has shown up at her bookstore at night in the rain.
Jordan Hadlock allowed him in and gave him towels to wipe up the water.
3 years ago her husband had died and she moved to the outskirts of
London to run the newsstand and live upstairs.
Helmut has announced their engagement after she's spent the night
with the new photographer. She had only agreed prior to think about it.
Because of a newspaper article she no longer has a job now either but
the paper said she was to marry Helmut. ( )

Predictable plot with lots of sex scenes described in sex writer common jargon. Reader was average at best. Serves as OK entertainment on a long trip, but hardly good literature. ( )

Book description
On the surface, Jordan Hadlock has it all. A great job managing the English newsstand in the old quarter of Lucerne, Switzerland. Rich and renowned Swiss industrialist Helmut Eckherdt is intent on marrying her, even though she hasn't said yes. Jordan spends her days shelving books at an English newsstand and her nights avoiding talk of marriage with her boyfriend Helmut. It's not that she doesn't care for him; it's just that her first marriage ended badly. Since then, Jordan has pledged never to surrender to love again. What more could she ask for? A clap of thunder and a pounding on her door soon give her an answer. Reeves Grant appears seeking shelter from a sudden downpour, but the real storm is inside Jordan and the passion they share that night. The next morning he disappears without a trace. Still reeling from the encounter, Jordan plays hostess at Helmut's lavish dinner party, where Helmut announces that he and Jordan are to be wed -- at the very same moment she spies Reeves Grant snapping pictures of the event and her new "fiancé". Now Jordan is moving toward the altar with a man she likes but doesn't love. And working on a feature of the wealthy Helmut -- often only inches away from her -- is photojournalist Reeves Grant, bringing with him all the memories of the emotions she felt one special night.
