Loading... Over Her Dead Bodyby Kate White
None. There are changes at Gloss and Bailey needs to find another freelance job that pays. She hears about a job writing crime stories at Buzz, a celebrity magazine, from her friend Robby. She isn't there very long when Mona Hodges, the editor, is murdered. Suspects abound because Mona was hated by so many people and there was a party at the magazine next door the night she was murdered. Bailey begins to investigate to write up her story for the magazine. I will read the next Bailey Weggins mystery, but didn't find myself as involved in this book as the earlier ones. ( )Bailey Weggins finds herself in another murder mystery. In this book Bailey finds herself working at Buzz, a gossip magazine, covering celebrity crimes. After Bailey finds her new boss, Mona, dead at the Buzz headquarters, Bailey must figure out who the killer is before the killer decides to make Bailey the next victim. I read the first Bailey Weggins novel and thought I would like to the rest of these books but I was not impressed with this book. I had to finish the book just because I wanted to know if it would get any better, but I was not impressed. I wanted to put the book down several times and start reading something else. I wouldn't put this on a 'summer reading' list for any friends or family. Fired from her job at Gloss, Bailey lands a new gig reporting on celebrity crime for gossip magazine Buzz. A few days later, the slave-driving and widely despised editor at Buzz is knocked off. Since this killing falls into the realm of celebrity crime, Bailey is assigned to report on the story. Her friend and co-worker Robby is the chief suspect, but Bailey's investigation uncovers a long list of potential murderers behind him - a very long list. Not the kind of writing style I normally like; it was matter-or-fact, while belaboring every tiny, insignificant detail. The main character was quite likeable, though. Of course, the mystery was solved in a suprise ending, but after hearing her say over and over that she had no idea who the killer was for 300 pages, I kind of stopped caring. no reviews | add a review
