Excellent adventure story. The story does have a lot of threads that interestingly woven into an adventure story that is worth the read. I thought it started a little slow but once you have made it into the story it is kind of hard to put down. Love the beginning and ending and really can not wait for the second installment. Was a great way to spend an afternoon in the sun. ( )

This was a fun fantasy, an interesting quick read. The author provided many different perspectives from the three kingdoms. I am an avid fan of fantasy, so this was right up my alley. ( )

Very impressive debut book. The characters are quite vivid and interesting. I only took off half a star because of the fact that pretty much all the main characters met by chance exactly who they needed to meet for the story to progress. Unless there's some kind of explanation of why that happened later on, that's a bit too much to take. But really looking forward to read the next part of the story! ( )

It took me a while to actually pick this book up and read it, but once I did I finished it quickly. This book was very enjoyable and I love how the author let's the reader think for him/herself. You are able to form your own opinion about the characters and situations rather than the author telling you what the think or feel. I enjoy the historical fantasy genre and wish I had picked this book up sooner instead of letting it sit by the wayside. It was interesting and different and I hope there is a sequel soon. ( )
