I love driving trips, and National Geographic is my favorite road atlas, for two reasons:
1) It's spiral-bound, so you can easily keep it open to your desired map.
2) The fonts are big enough so that my middle-aged eyes can read the maps without resorting to a magnifying glass, but small enough so that the maps can be of large enough areas to be useful.

The atlas also has lots of extra information about national parks. That's very nice and welcome, and I enjoy it - but the fonts and the spiral binding are why I buy this atlas. ( )
