A murder occurs at the cemetery where an historical pageant is being played out. Theodosia is present but is warned off by the homicide detective in charge of the case. However murder seems to be tracking her. Drayton and Hayley are the usual stalwart support in both the tea shop and the investigation. ( )

This series continues to be perfectly pleasant. The characters are predictable, the tea descriptions detailed and interesting, and the feeling of being in Charleston, a nice escape. In fact, this book and this series are wonderful in the escapist literature, cozy mystery, kind of reading. Not a lot of depth or meaning, but fun. ( )

Not bad, at least this time around the clues did lead to the actual suspect. There was a glaring flaw, as another reviewer has noted, of Theodosia being allowed to have some of the personal effects of the victim, which should have been in the police's hands. There was also a nice change where the detective in this book was actually more helpful than usual. Overall, very smooth reading, but only 3 1/2 stars due to the errors. ( )

Charming recipes and tea-making tips round out this 'cozy' mystery. ( )

Another lovely journey to the Indigo Tea Shop with murder and mystery on the side. Each time I read one of Childs' books, I long to have a tea shop like hers nearby, complete with a Drayton and Haley. The only real problem I had with this book was that Jory was able to remove his uncle's personal effects from his office. I'm sure the police would have wanted Uncle Jasper's daily journal, MP3 player, and cell phone as part of their investigation. Kind of a major flaw, but one I'm willing to overlook this time. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0425198138, Hardcover)

Indigo Tea Shop owner Theodosia Browning is catering a Charleston benefit, a "Ghost Crawl" through Jasmine Cemetery. But the organizer, Dr. Davis, won't get to enjoy the festivities: during the Crawl's theatrical number, he drops dead. It looks like foul play-but how could such an upstanding citizen have enemies?

With a nose for trouble, Theodosia starts stirring things up with her own investigation to find the do-badder. But before long, chasing down the culprit gets her in hot water up to her neck.
