Not a pretty picture book.

Great stories complement the fine illustrations. A very good book. ( )

Gorgeous watercolor paintings of some of the worlds most formidable ships. The text is concise and informative as the history of naval technology unfolds before our eyes. The BB Colorado 1920s, HMS Rodney 1944, (These are not the dates built, but the date portrayed in the paintings), Battleship Maine 1897, HMS Warrior 1864, Ricelieu 1954, Musashi and Yamato 1944, Tirpitz 1942 and many, many others from 1847-1960. Beautiful book for the naval historian. ( )
