Since I have relatives who are members of a splinter group from Armstrong's WCOG, this explanation of how its subsequent leadership felt compelled to accept orthodox Christianity fascinated me. It fully compares Herbert Armstrong's doctrines with Scripture and gives insight into the unprecedented move of a "cult" into orthodox Christianity. Naturally, they lost a lot of members who had regarded Herbert W. Armstrong as a conduit of divine revelation. There are quite a number of splinter groups which each portray themselves as the TRUE successor of H.W.A. One is led by Garner Ted Armstrong, but that's another story. ( )
