This is a translation into English of St. Benedict's Rule for monastic living. Part of what makes the translation so interesting is that it was translated specifically to be used by nuns. The other part that's interesting is that this translation came just before the dissolution of the English monasteries by Henry VIII, and as such, proves to be as much an artifact of its time as it is a text. Very cool this. Okay...you kind of have to be into this stuff. But if you are, this is a real gem. ( )
