The activities of various nocturnal critters seen through the wonderfully exagerated eyes of an owl. A beautiful picutre book debut. ( )

LITTLE OWL'S NIGHT makes a wonderful bedtime story, as Little Owl flies through the night forest, visiting all his nocturnal friends. A simple animal book for young readers, but it was the illustrations that made this book stand out for me. Little Owl, with his big eyes, is a lovable guide. ( )

Little Owl's Night tells the story of our protagonist--the owl--and how he spends his day. In an approach different from most stories that are considered "bedtime stories", Owl's day begins at night, just as everyone else is heading to bed. The story describes the events in Owl's nightly routine, as well as those of his nocturnal friends. The illustrations within the book are stunning. Each page has a deep, black background to represent the night, causing the colors within the other illustrations to pop off the page. The book would be a hit among many young readers and would make a wonderful addition to any collection. ( )

It is a simple story about the different events that happen in the forest that many nocturnal animals witness, but other animals miss out on because they are asleep. 4.5 stars. ( )

Little Owl's Night

(Child/Gr PreK-K) It's evening in the forest and Little Owl wakes up from his day-long sleep to watch his friends enjoying the night. A full moon rises and Little Owl can't understand why anyone would want to miss it. Could the daytime be nearly as wonderful?

(retrieved from Amazon Thu, 14 Feb 2013 13:59:09 -0500)

Little Owl enjoys a lovely night in the forest visiting his friend the raccoon, listening to the frogs croak and the crickets chirp, and watching the fog that hovers overhead.
