MINUS One Star

Is there a reason that publishers print such crappy novels? Is there a reason people but them? To quote Freddie Mercury: "another one bites the dust!"

How cute a husband & wife writing team (Lori Schlachter Karayianni & Tony Kakrayianni)! NOT! They need to give it up...

I am supposing that the main reason the main character is Greek is because Tony is Greek as well and has a fondness for family. This last supposition is due to the fact that there are many other Greeks in this story, family members who not only run Greek restaurants but also run the PI business where Sofie works, and a very meddling mother.

In this installment of the series it is Christmas and Sofie is working for; Mrs. Claus has lost a reindeer; Mr. BIG GREEK, Abramopoulos's daughter has been kidnapped (he suspects his ex-wife, whom he divorced & left in poverty); and some lady who is sure that her husband is cheating on her........

I got most of the way through chapter seven until the pain of boredom did me in. Most all of what I read of the story was filler (there are only 199 pages).

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I want to trash the books I read, because I don't.... I want to read good books, I really do, but as I picked this out for the December part of the Fall Flurry Challenge.

At least it had a cute cover, which once again goes to prove: "You can't tell a book by its cover" ( )
