Another 'meta' book - a must read for those of us who are fans of [b:Chester|1703186|Chester (Chester)|M??lanie Watt|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1347537719s/1703186.jpg|1700253], et al, but not quite as side-splitting as that. This is a little gentler, a little sweeter. The depth of the friendship between the author & illustrator characters supports the recommendation that this is not for the youngest children.

I'm off to the creators' GR pages to make sure I've made myself a fan - I love the diversity of the different works I've seen so far and want to make sure I explore even more of their books. ( )

Chloe collects change every where she goes. One day she found a lot of change and rode the merry go round more than she usually does. she got really dizzy, and when she got off, she ended up getting lost in a forest. In the forest Chloe found a lion and many other people on her journey. ( )

I enjoyed reading this children’s book. My favorite part of the book was the illustrations. They explained the story well from cover to cover. The part I enjoyed was how in the beginning the author introduced the illustrator and Chloe and the illustrator. For example, the illustrator drew himself on the first page and on the second page had a picture of himself drawing Chloe, the main character in the story. I also enjoyed the bubbles the illustrator drew around the words to direct what each person was saying. Second, the writing throughout this story represents a lot. I liked how the author and illustrator included themselves (speaking and pictured) all throughout the story. I believe this enhanced the writing and made it more attracting to the reader to see their opinion on what was occurring. For example, (p. 8) the author and illustrator discussed in the middle of the book, what they thought should actually be occurring with Chloe. This book is important because it shows multiple points of views for how someone thinks the story should turn out. ( )

Made me laugh out loud! Great lesson on authors and illustrators, too. ( )

Mac the writer and Adam the artist disagree about the direction the story should take so Mac has Adam eaten by the lion and tries to get a new illustrator in. Chloe knows that Mac needs Adam and convinces him to not only allow Adam to come back but the lion to spit up Adam as well.

There are so many great jokes here including a Frankenstein reference, the breakdown of the fourth wall, and the illustration techniques are really interesting and in a good way. I really enjoyed this book. ( )
