Melding the best of mythology and fairytale, Amos Daragon #1: The Mask Wearer is the first book in a fast-paced adventure series for middle grade readers (8 -12). This series has been out since 2009 in Canada and the UK but is just making its US debut. Currently, "The Mask Wearer" is Amazon.com's best middle grades book of the month.

Our ever faithful hero Amos Daragon is a character straight out of the Brothers Grimm--loyal, trustworthy, and very clever--outsmarting villains and their own nefarious schemes. Amos's life changes forever the day a mermaid gives him a mask capable of harnessing the strength of the wind—thus appointing Amos as the new Mask Wearer.

His task is to find the masks for the other three elements; earth, fire, and water. Only then will Amos be fully empowered to battle the evil forces that threaten to destroy the balance of nature and plunge the world into darkness.

To fulfill his destiny, Amos must make his way to the mysterious woods of Tarkasis. But a wicked sorcerer is terrorizing the land, searching for a skull pendant that was stolen from him—a pendant that conceals a secret weapon. Along the way he encounters a colorful cast of gorgons, mermaids, nagas, the Egyptian god Seth and other good stuff.

What will Amos do when the pendant falls into his hands? Will Beorf, a boy who can morph into a bear, and Medusa, a snake-haired gorgon, turn out to be friend or foe? And will Amos master any of his newfound skills as Mask Wearer in time to face a formidable enemy?

His challenges are many . . . and they're just beginning.

The second book in the 12 (or is it 10?) book series "The Key of Braha" is due out later this year.
