I was hoping for something a little more gritty and in-depth. ( ) I gobbled up this little book in one afternoon. There is a wealth of wisdom within the pages of this little tome. When thinking of women living under the Taliban, this quote from Bolen hit me like a ton of bricks,"We could easily be a short-lived resource, a never-again historical fluke, if fundamentalist religons and the patriarchial attitude that they spawn have their way." I know she is right when I think of how recently women gained the right to vote and of all the changes in women's rights I have seen in my 48 years. This quote deals with the politcal aspect of Bolen's book. Most of the book is good, commonsense advice set forth in 13 qualities for living and dealing with all life slings one's way. I recommend it for crones and those approaching cronehood. I probably would have enjoyed this book as a young girl. I've always felt far older than I am (older-not wiser!). I love the word crone; to me it means wisewoman. no reviews | add a review
