You Be You
Summary:
"You Be You" by Linda Kranz is a story about diversity and the importance of valuing individuality between all the fish. It explains all the different colors, shapes, and sizes of all the fishes.

Personal Reaction:
This is a good book to teach kids to be themselves and to not care about the color of their skin. I really liked this book and how it has a message that needs to be taught to kids.

Extension Ideas:
1. I would have the students paint fishes any color they want them to be.
2. I would have a lesson about diversity and have them draw pictures of themselves and their friends to understand all the differences and similarities between everyone.

I adore this book! The colors are vibrant and the text is rich. I can see many uses for this book in a K-2 classroom, as well as in a counseling session. It shares a great lesson about diversity and is easy for students to understand.

A noble book exploring the ways that people are different and reassuring young children that this difference is ok and they should be their true selves. ( )
