Extremely helpful for GRE prep, I especially like their sardonic attitude about the test and the fact that it only measures how well you take it. ( )

Cracking the GRE is a study guide for those trying to enter into graduate school by helping them crack (hence the title) the GRE, the graduate entrance exam. While this book did not give practice tests (unlike most study guides), it did give a lot of help with every aspect of the GRE. I was slightly disappointed at the lack of an actual practice test in the book, as well as a few grammatical errors. ( )

Helpfulness that comes with a biting cynicism. The GRE is a hellion but this book might get you ready. ( )

Good, thorough guide to the GRE. It starts from the basics, which is especially valuable to someone like me, who is coming from outside the US educational system. I thought the maths section could have been revamped a little, though. Occasionally, it uses techniques or language which is US-centric, and sometimes it takes the long-way around when a much shorter technique would have worked. Still, I think it helped me get on well in the test. ( )
