Bedtime Stories For Cats by Leigh Anne Jasheway (lyndanorth)
lyndanorth: My mother and I are cat lovers, but neither she, nor I or her cat could get interested in these stories as we tried to read them during a Christmas visit together. Fantasy, not a warm, and humorous book for cat lovers, as we were hoping.

This book features 17 short stories and fables written specifically for cat lovers of all ages. The topics range from mythology to magic and horror stories (for cats) combined with a couple of essays written by a cat in order to help the rest of us understand feline logic and reasoning. Many of the stories are sweet, amusing, poignant and informative, and I found myself instantly recognizing certain feline personalities and traits displayed in the book, and equating them to each of the four lovely rescue kitties who I have had (and still have) the pleasure of sharing my life with.

I really enjoyed reading this book very much. I give Bedtime Stories For Cats by Amy Neftzger an A! and am a little upset with myself that I waited so long to read this book. I am definitely eager to start reading the companion book to this one, Bedtime Stories For Dogs very soon. I honestly can't tell you why I waited so long to read and review this book, there are just so many good books out there, and so little time to read them all! :) ( )

A short story collection of cat tales. A bit hit and miss one or two were mildly amusing but overall a bit flat and dull. ( )

Bedtime Stories for Cats contains 17 short stories about, of course, cats. To me, it was a bit of a mixed bag - some decent, some cute, but most just meh. Like a few other reviewers, I think I was expecting more humour - given how destructive the little rotters can be (anyone, remember that lovely antique chair with original leather seats that gramma gave us and that Fluffy used as a scratching post), why would anyone keep a cat or, in some cases, many if they weren't so much fun to watch? I also agree that, as another reviewer pointed out, this is probably an unfair assessment but it is what it is - to me, cats are funny, these stories not so much. Still, if you are a cat fancier, you might find them amusing if not laugh-out-loud OMG my cat does that too hilarious! ( )

Cat owners everywhere rejoice! Amy Neftzger has written the ultimate storybook for your fur-babies.
This small novella contains seventeen tails of cat-dom. Want to know how to fool the yapping dog – it’s
in here. The evils of baths – got it covered! “There is great evil in bathing a cat….a lot of shampoos for
pets are fruit scented…..bathing your cat is the same thing as basting it in jam before sending it off to be
devoured.”

This book is hilarious although, to be fair, it is also true. My three boys (Spike, Spot and Sparky) show up
in many of the life lessons written here. If you have your own cats or wish you did – this is your book.
The critters will like the stories, too! ( )
