This is a great picture book for the classroom. It can help the students with context clues and figuring out the story line. ( )

The red sled is definitely a mischievous story about animals stealing a girl's sled. She leaves it outside and bear goes and steals it then a bunch of different animals jump on it like a moose, until they all crash into the snow. The bear then returns the sled and the little girl looks outside the next day and questions the bear tracks that were left leading up to the snow. I believe that the message in this book is that it is okay to have fun with your friends, but do not get too carried away because you will crash and burn. The story also shows how you should not borrow other peoples things without asking them. I enjoyed this story because of its message, but also the details in the pictures. ( )

In this winter cousin of Duck on a Bike, a diverse group of forest creatures take a child's red sled for a joyride. Gleefully expressive illustrations with sound effects as the only text. Read as a picture walk, encouraging the audience to tell the story and figure out what will happen next.
