I'm proud of myself. I figured out who the killer was before the "third act" *smile*. This was an interesting story. The characters were well written, I'm mean talk about a tortured hero, and the mystery and romance were pretty good too. More of a 3.5 read. ( )

Book description
New Orleans homicide detective, Alan Chevalier, knows it is going to be a bad day when he is called in to investigate another murder in the French Quarter. He knows it is going to be a really bad day when he comes across a prior victim's sister blocking the way to his car. Telling the dead woman's sister to go home and let the big boys do the investigating doesn't even rattle the woman because she vows to stick with Detective Chevalier like glue until he finds out just who murdered her sister.

Molly Laraway was never very close to her sister so she doesn't really understand why she has to find out who murdered Claire. Knowing that she will have no peace until her sister's killer is found, Molly travels to New Orleans and confronts the only man that she has hope in helping her, Alan Chevalier. Used to having her life in order, Molly doesn't realize that in trusting this hardened, street-wise cop, her sedate and ordinary life is about to change.
