Tommy Learner from 1900s New York and Jezebel Lemon from current day New York join forces through a time portal to fight the evil Dead Gentleman and his Grave Walkers. Strong boy and girl characters should attract middle school readers. A magic mechanical bird, three-armed trogs and a submarine named the Nautilus (a hats off to Jules Verne) combine to make this Steampunk tale entertaining. (
